NOVELTY - A sliding plate for a log splitter is made of a combination of base material, which is preferably brass, plastic, or any other suitable material, and 0.5-80 wt.% graphite or graphene. USE - A sliding plate for a log splitter (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The addition of graphite or graphene eliminates the need for lubrication of guides in a log splitter. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for: (1) base plate of an axe for log splitter comprising surface that is oriented towards a guide of a log splitter and being made of a combination of base material, preferably brass, plastic, or any other suitable material, and 0.5-80 wt.% graphite or graphene; (2) guide for log splitter which is made of a combination of base material, preferably brass, plastic, or any other suitable material, and 0.5-80 wt.% graphite or graphene; and (3) log splitter comprising two pairs of sliding plates and/or the base plate of an axe and/or the guide.
