NOVELTY - A silicon carbide ceramic comprises 70-80 pts. wt. silicon carbide, 4-5 pts. wt. vermiculite, 2-4 pts. wt. dextrin, 6-8 pts. wt. graphene, 12-15 pts. wt. chopped carbon fiber pre-dispersion, 2-3 pts. wt. polyethylene glycol, 2-3 pts. wt. glycerol, 4-5 pts. wt. corundum, 3-5 pts. wt. sintering additive and 90-100 pts. wt. deionized water. The sintering additive is obtained using alumina, zirconium carbide and pulverized carbon powder, methylene bis(acrylamide) and ethanol. USE - Silicon carbide ceramic (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The silicon carbide ceramic has excellent fracture toughness, mechanical properties, compressive strength, corrosion resistance, density and heat resistance. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - A silicon carbide ceramic comprises 70-80 pts. wt. silicon carbide, 4-5 pts. wt. vermiculite, 2-4 pts. wt. dextrin, 6-8 pts. wt. graphene, 12-15 pts. wt. chopped carbon fiber pre-dispersion, 2-3 pts. wt. polyethylene glycol, 2-3 pts. wt. glycerol, 4-5 pts. wt. corundum, 3-5 pts. wt. sintering additive and 90-100 pts. wt. deionized water. The sintering additive is obtained by mixing 10-15 pts. wt. alumina, 8-12 pts. wt. zirconium carbide and 15-20 pts. wt. pulverized carbon powder having particle size of 200-300 mesh, 0.4-0.8 pt. wt. methylene bis(acrylamide) and 10-15 pts. wt. ethanol, heating at 10-15 MPa, compressing, forming billet, drying at 600-800 degrees C and crushing to powder having particle size of 150-200 mesh.
