NOVELTY - Preparing nano-aminotrimethylene phosphonic acid magnesium loaded reduced graphene oxide flame retardant comprises e.g. (i) dissolving magnesium chloride hexahydrate in deionized water, slowly adding aminotrimethylene phosphonic acid, and mixing uniformly to obtain aminotrimethylene phosphonic acid magnesium loaded precursor solution, and (ii) adding the precursor solution into oxidized graphene aqueous solution, mixing uniformly, stirring and reacting, centrifuging, washing and drying to obtain final product. USE - The method is useful for preparing nano-aminotrimethylene phosphonic acid magnesium loaded reduced graphene oxide flame retardant. ADVANTAGE - The flame retardant has increased thermal stability and flame-retarding effect. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Preparing nano-aminotrimethylene phosphonic acid magnesium loaded reduced graphene oxide flame retardant comprises (i) dissolving 0.5-3 g magnesium chloride hexahydrate in 25 ml deionized water, then slowly adding 10-40 ml of 50% of aminotrimethylene phosphonic acid, and mixing uniformly to obtain aminotrimethylene phosphonic acid magnesium loaded precursor solution, and (ii) adding the precursor solution into 90-120 ml of 3 mg/ml concentration of oxidized graphene aqueous solution, mixing uniformly, stirring and reacting at 90-110 degrees C for 24-48 hours, centrifuging, washing and drying to obtain final product, where flame retardant composition contains magnesium tris(methylenephosphonate) and reduced graphene oxide flakes, the magnesium tris(methylenephosphonate) is used as a reducing agent to reduce graphene oxide, and loaded in the form of nano particles on the surface of the reduced graphene oxide sheet.
