NOVELTY - Preparing graphene oxide modified aqueous acrylic paint comprises (a) mixing uniformly the graphene oxide and activated zinc oxide, adjusting the surface tension of graphene oxide system by adding sodium dodecylbenzene sulfonate, so that the surface tension of the solution is similar to the tension between graphite layers, then stirring at a rate of 50-3000 revolutions/minute for 30-60 minutes for dispersing and activating to obtain single-layer or multi-layer graphene oxide with better dispersion, and (b) mixing and stirring the surface-actively treated graphene oxide, acrylic emulsion resin, nano-silica emulsion, and aqueous coating at 5-45 degrees C, and then combining with ultrasonic assisted treatment under the frequency of 20-50 KHZ for 30-50 minutes. USE - The paint useful in building decoration, and furniture manufacturing. ADVANTAGE - The paint: can greatly improve the uniform dispersion of graphene; has superimposed two-dimensional sheet structure of graphene oxide in the coating layer; has high protection, wear resistance, water resistance, and weather resistance; exerts good paint film strength; can reduce the impact of organic volatiles in the coating on the environment and home health; and has broad market prospect.
