NOVELTY - Preparing graphene supported metal single atom material comprises (i) adding graphene and template salt to dispersing agent to prepare dispersing system, (ii) freezing and drying dispersion system to obtain precursor powder, (iii) carrying out heat treatment to precursor powder under non-oxidizing atmosphere, and (iv) washing heat treated product with water and freeze-drying, where the metal element in the metal source is noble metal element or transition metal element, the heat treatment temperature is higher than the decomposition temperature of the metal source, the template salt is water-soluble salt, the decomposition temperature and melting temperature of the template salt are higher than the temperature of the heat treatment, the template salt and graphene, metal source all do not react, the quality of the template salt is at least 2.5 times the quality of the metal source, and the quality of the graphene does not exceed the quality of the template salt. USE - The material is useful as catalyst (claimed), oxygen-cathode reduction reaction catalyst for proton exchange membrane fuel cell and metal air battery. ADVANTAGE - The material has high catalytic activity, and avoids agglomeration of graphite alkene and metal atoms.
