NOVELTY - The method for modifying graphene oxide, involves (i) dispersing graphene oxide in an alcohol solvent, stirring and dispersing evenly, adding catalyst to obtain a dispersion, (ii) replacing air in a reactor with carbon dioxide through gas replacement at a pressure of 2-5 MPa, stirring at a temperature of 60-100 degrees C, cooling to room temperature after the reaction is completed, slowly removing the gas, then removing catalyst and solvent by filtration, and performing centrifugal washing to obtain modified graphene oxide. USE - Method for modifying graphene oxide for use in aqueous coating. ADVANTAGE - The method enables preparation of modified graphene oxide with excellent dispersion stability, improved solubility in aqueous coating and enhanced performance for aqueous coating. The method reduces the amount of graphene, and reduces production cost.
