NOVELTY - Preparing functionalized graphene oxide-hypophosphite flame retardant involves preparing phosphorus-containing functionalized graphene oxide by mixing the graphene oxide, phosphorus oxychloride, triethylamine in dimethylformamide solution uniformly, under the inert gas atmosphere, reacting for 5-8 hours at 0-5 degrees C to obtain the mixed solution, mixing the DOPO-OH with the mixed solution uniformly, reacting for 5-8 hours at 40-60 degrees C, post-processing to obtain phosphorus-containing functionalized graphene oxide, preparing functionalized graphene oxide-hypophosphite flame retardant by mixing the sodium hypophosphite with aqueous solution of phosphorus-containing functionalized graphene oxide uniformly, adding octahydrate aluminum sulfate aqueous solution dropwise at 80-90 degrees C, reacting for 6-8 hours, post-processing to obtain the functionalized graphene oxide-hypophosphite flame retardant. USE - Method for preparing functionalized graphene oxide-hypophosphite flame retardant used in preparing polystyrene nano-composite flame retardant material (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method has excellent flame-retardant effect. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a method for preparing polystyrene nano-composite flame retardant material, which involves: (A) dispersing the functionalized graphene oxide-hypophosphite flame retardant and polystyrene in dimethylformamide solution, mixing uniformly, drying, granulating to obtain polystyrene nano-material masterbatch; and (B) mixing the polystyrene nano-material master batch and polystyrene, obtaining polystyrene nano-composite flame retardant material.
