NOVELTY - A polyvinylpyrrolidone-graphene catalyst support material contains graphene which is covalently bonded to polyvinylpyrrolidone. USE - A polyvinylpyrrolidone-graphene catalyst support material for metal catalyst preparation (claimed). ADVANTAGE - Polyvinylpyrrolidone-graphene catalyst support material has excellent performance, dispersibility of graphene in polar solvent is improved, graphene surface has uniform size, increasing the interface bonding force between carrier material and catalyst, stability, activity, and service life of load-type catalyst are improved, and preparation process is simple and low cost and does not require special equipment. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for: (1) preparation of polyvinylpyrrolidone-graphene catalyst support material which involves taking 10-100 g graphite oxide, adding 1-3 L water, ultrasonically dispersing, adjusting pH to 4-5, adding 5-20 ml silane coupling agent, refluxing for 12-48 hours under protection of inert atmosphere to obtain oxidized graphite alkene powder modified by silane coupling agent, diluting slurry with 2-4 times of water, adding 0.1-0.5 L tetrabutylammonium hydroxide to obtain 40% water solution, adding 0.5-2 L hydrazine hydrate, refluxing for 6-12 hours under protection of inert atmosphere, drying to obtain silane-coupling-agent-modified graphite alkene powder, adding 5-20 g initiator, 0.5-2 g N-vinylpyrrolidone, and 50-200 ml ethanol solvent to silane-coupling-agent-modified graphite alkene powder, ultrasonically dispersing for 0.5-2 hours, refluxing for 12-48 hours under inert atmosphere, filtering, washing into neutrality by water, and normal temperature drying; and (2) preparation of metal catalyst which involves using polyvinylpyrrolidone-graphene catalyst support material.
