NOVELTY - Preparing high-strength microgel particle, comprises: (i) preparing pre-polymerized liquid using hydrophilic monomer, initiator, reinforcing filler, crosslinking agent and water, where the hydrophilic monomer is a mixture of acrylamide and 2-acrylamide-2-methylpropanesulfonic acid, the initiator is ammonium persulfate, the reinforcing filler is nano-clay, nano-attapulgite, or graphene oxide, and the crosslinking agent is methylene-bisacrylamide; (ii) adding pre-polymerization liquid in an open cover-type electric heating reaction vessel, initiating polymerization at 75-85℃ to obtain polymer hydrogel; and (iii) adding the prepared polymer hydrogel in a dryer, drying at 90-115℃ until the moisture content of the polymer is ≤5%, then grinding the dried polymer hydrogel by an industrial grinder, and passing through 70-100 mesh sieve to obtain the high-strength microgel particle. USE - The high-strength microgel particle is useful for emergency and rapid plugging and stopping water in mine tailings pond slag field, library, reservoir, river embankment and water conservancy project plugging water. ADVANTAGE - The method provides high-strength microgel particle with high strength and rapid solid-water plugging perfect combination for emergency plugging, utilizes easily available raw material, has low production cost and simple preparation technique, produces microgel particles with high mechanical strength and compressive strength of 40 MPa under 80% strain condition, can complete the solid water plugging within 20 seconds, and achieves high strength and uniform performance of rapid water-fixed plugging.
