NOVELTY - Preparation of graphene-based catalyst involves mixing palladium acetylacetone, silver acetate, graphene and N-methylpyrrolidinone, impregnating in a reaction kettle to obtain mixed solution, centrifuging, washing and drying the solid substance, adding to alkaline solution which is prepared by adding potassium hydroxide and potassium borohydride into deionized water, stirring at constant temperature, and centrifuging. USE - Preparation of graphene-based catalyst for preparing ethylene by selective hydrogenation of high concentration acetylene. ADVANTAGE - The method provides catalyst with longer life. The conversion rate of acetylene is high and selectivity of ethylene is excellent. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for application of the graphene-based catalyst in the preparation of ethylene, which involves adding graphene-based catalyst into a slurry bed reactor filled with N-methylpyrrolidone solvent, introducing nitrogen bubbles from the bottom of the reactor, introducing acetylene gas which is generated by a calcium carbide generator into the reactor, introducing hydrogen gas from the bottom for continuous reaction at a certain temperature and pressure, and collecting gas-phase products flowing out from the top of the reactor.
