NOVELTY - Composite material comprises thermosetting polymer reinforced with natural fiber. USE - The composite material is used for a multilayer armor system, and preparing composite and ceramics. ADVANTAGE - The composite material protects against rifle shooting with high impact ammunition, has improved ballistic performance of natural fiber, achieves maximum strength and toughness of composite, prevents fragmentation of brittle polymeric epoxy matrix, and maintains integrity to protect against subsequent rifle shootings. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for the following: (1) (1) a manufacturing process for preparation of the composite, involving accommodating a sisal fabric functionalized with graphene oxide, corresponding to the desired proportion of 30 vol.% in a suitable metallic mold, adding 70 vol.% of fluid still epoxy resin and covering the mold; (2) (2) a composite plate comprising a sisal fabric functionalized with graphene oxide reinforcing an epoxy matrix, which is suitable for a ballistic armor layer to protect against rifle shooting 7.62 mm or 5.56 mm caliber ammunition; (3) (3) a ceramic material having thicknesses of 7-10 mm comprising using alumina doped with niobium in the proportion of 4 %mass as hexagonal shaped tiles, the powders of alumina, niobium and polyethylene glycol, in liquid phase, are weighed and stored in an alumina ball mill for 12 hours and leave for 48 hours in a stove at 80 degrees C for drying; (4) (4) a manufacturing process for a preparation of the ceramics, involving macerating and sieving to obtain the powder, pressing under a pressure of 30 MPa, and adding green bodies into the furnace to be sintered; (5) (5) a multilayer armor comprising a composite plate is glued with polyurethane adhesive to a ceramic front layer, responsible for eroding the projectile and attenuating its impact; and (6) (6) a composite in the multilayer ballistic system comprising the function of capturing the ceramic and projectile fragments resulting from the frontal impact.
