NOVELTY - Metallo- beta -lactamase inhibitor comprises reduced type graphene oxide. USE - The agent is useful in pharmaceutical composition for treating metallo- beta -lactamase producing bacterial infection. The metallo- beta -lactamase is IMP-1 type metallo- beta -lactamase (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The agent exhibits higher metallo- beta -lactamase inhibitory activity as compared to existing inhibitor using GO. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for the following: (1) pharmaceutical composition comprising the inhibitor; and (2) method for detecting metallo- beta -lactamase producing bacteria, involves (a) observing the growth of the test bacteria in presence of carbapenem beta -lactam agent and inhibitor or in the presence or absence of harmful agents, and detecting metallo- beta -lactamase producing bacteria.
