NOVELTY - Preparing a polymer composition comprising a polymer and graphene, comprises: (A) providing an aqueous dispersion of graphene, where the dispersion comprises a non-ionic surfactant; (B) mixing the dispersion of graphene with an aqueous latex of the polymer or (a) water-soluble or dispersible precursor(s) of the polymer; (C) removing water from the obtained mixture; (D) heating the product from the step (C) to a temperature at which the polymer flows or where the polymer is formed from its precursor(s); and (E) processing and/or solidifying the product the step (D) into a desired form. USE - The polymer composition is useful for producing biocompatible materials. ADVANTAGE - The materials have improved stiffness, conductivity, mechanical and gas barrier properties. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for: (1) the polymer composition obtainable by the process; and (2) dispersion of graphene in an aqueous solution of a non-ionic surfactant.
