NOVELTY - A battery cell (100) comprises an electrode (102), an electrode (104), and an ionically conductive layer (106) sandwiched between the electrodes (102) and (104), where at least one of the electrodes (102) and (104), comprising an electronically conductive polymer (ECP). USE - Battery cell such as solid-state battery cell for lithium-ion battery (claimed). Uses include but are not limited to electric vehicles, hybrid vehicles, laptop computers, and cell phones. ADVANTAGE - The battery cell has excellent energy density. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for the following: (1) An electrode, which comprises an electrode layer including 20-98 wt.% electrode active material, 5-70 wt.% ionically conductive material, and 0.1-30 wt.% electronically conductive polymer, and (2) A battery, which comprises the electrode.
