NOVELTY - The method for preparing cobalt/graphene composite material involves carrying out simultaneous reduction of graphene and cobalt nitrate. The specific process is carried out by preparing aqueous solution of oxidized graphene prepared by Hummers method, mixing thoroughly with cobalt nitrate hexahydrate solution, homogenizing, slowly adding aqueous solution of sodium borohydride, stirring at 20-40 degrees C for 30-90 minutes, centrifuging, washing with water and ethanol for three times and vacuum drying at 50 degrees C for 12 hours to obtain final product. USE - Method for preparing cobalt/graphene composite material for preparing acetophenone by catalytic oxidation with ethyl benzene (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The environmentally-friendly method enables simple and economical preparation of cobalt/graphene composite material. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a preparation of acetophenone by catalytic oxidation of ethyl benzene with cobalt/graphene composite material, which involves adding cobalt/graphene composite material, N-hydroxyphthalimide (NHPI), solvent and ethylbenzene, introducing oxygen, maintaining the reaction at 60-150 degrees C for 4-12 hours.
