NOVELTY - A system for generating graphene (120) in magnetic field comprises plasma generator (100) configured for producing ionized carbon atoms exiting the plasma generator as a carbon atom cloud (114); graphene generation chamber (104) which receives carbon atom cloud to generate graphene film (116) from ionized carbon atoms, and includes growth portion (104a), recovery portion (104c), and magnetic structure (112); and graphene seed source (132) which provides graphene seed (118) to initial location over the magnetic field within growth portion of graphene generation chamber. USE - A system for generating graphene in a magnetic field. ADVANTAGE - The system uses a continuous manufacturing web process in which even plasma distribution generated by ionization of carbon atom source produces a glow discharge of carbon atoms at a desired rate, allowing continuous growth of graphene film of sufficient quality and quantity floating over a magnetic field. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - A system for generating graphene in magnetic field comprises plasma generator configured for producing ionized carbon atoms exiting the plasma generator as a carbon atom cloud; graphene generation chamber which is coupled to plasma generator, receives carbon atom cloud as it exits plasma generator to generate graphene film from ionized carbon atoms, and includes growth portion, recovery portion, and magnetic structure having a two-dimensional array of alternating polarity magnetic sources in which magnetic structure produces magnetic field having a magnetic field gradient sufficient to float graphene film over the magnetic structure, and magnetic structure extends from growth portion to recovery portion; and graphene seed source which provides graphene seed to initial location over the magnetic field within growth portion of graphene generation chamber in which graphene film is generated over the magnetic field such that graphene film floats over magnetic field due to the graphene film being diamagnetic, carbon atom cloud causes the floating graphene film to grow continuously from initial location, and graphene generation chamber is configured such that the floating graphene film moves away from initial location and through the graphene generation chamber until it exits the recovery portion of graphene generation chamber as a recovered graphene product.
