NOVELTY - Preparation of graphene oxide solution comprises mixing concentrated sulfuric acid and nitric acid solution at room temperature, stirring and slowly adding graphite powder and adding sodium nitrate and sodium bisulfate; ice bath cooling, vigorous stirring and slowly adding potassium permanganate and potassium nitrate; transferring reaction mixture to water bath, stirring and reacting; adding deionized water and water bath heating; adding water and slowly adding hydrogen peroxide solution; filtering mixture, washing diluted hydrochloric acid to remove metal ion and washing deionized water to remove residual acid; air-drying, diluting solid filter cake with deionized water and ultrasonic treating to obtain oxidized graphene dispersion liquid; dialyzing solution and changing water once every day for seven days to remove residual acid and metal ion; and centrifuging graphene oxide dialysate, removing incompletely oxidized or non-oxidized graphite powder and collecting supernatant solution. USE - Method for preparing graphene oxide solution used for manufacturing battery. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Preparation of graphene oxide solution comprises mixing 70mL 98 wt.% concentrated sulfuric acid and 5 mL 25 wt.% nitric acid solution at room temperature, stirring and slowly adding 3.0 g graphite powder and adding 1.5 g sodium nitrate and 1.1 g sodium bisulfate; placing mixture to ice bath cooling, vigorous stirring and slowly adding 9.0 g potassium permanganate and 1 g potassium nitrate; transferring reaction mixture to 40 degrees C water bath, stirring and reacting for 30 minutes; slowly adding 150 mL deionized water and water bath heating at 90 degrees C for 15 minutes; adding 500 mL water and slowly adding 15 mL 30 wt.% hydrogen peroxide solution; filtering mixture, washing 250 mL 3.5 wt.% diluted hydrochloric acid to remove metal ion and washing with 200 mL deionized water to remove residual acid; air-drying, diluting solid filter cake with de-ionized water and ultrasonic treating to obtain oxidized graphene dispersion liquid; dialyzing solution and changing water once every day for seven days to remove residual acid and metal ion; and centrifuging graphene oxide dialysate at 4000 revolutions/minute, removing incompletely oxidized or non-oxidized graphite powder and collecting upper supernatant solution.
