NOVELTY - Preparing modified graphene involves adding 400ml of 98% sulfuric acid and 10ml of 30% hydrogen peroxide solution at -2 degrees C for 30 minutes. The 0.6g graphite powder and 3.6g sodium perchlorate are added to obtained solution at 20 degrees C for 1-3 hours. The obtained solution is centrifuged to obtain enriched hydroxylated graphene oxide. The hydroxylated graphene oxide, oxalic acid, ethanol and dehydrating agent are added to reactor at controlled reaction temperature till dehydrating. The obtained solution is distilled at 140 degrees C to remove benzene solvent. USE - Method for preparing modified graphene for synthesizing diethyl oxalate (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method enables to prepare modified graphene in simple, and cost-effective manner, improves yield and suitable for mass production. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Preparing modified graphene involves adding 400ml of 98% sulfuric acid and 10ml of 30% hydrogen peroxide solution at -2 degrees C for 30 minutes. The obtained solution is cooled and filtered to separate the diethyl oxalate and hydroxylated graphene oxide.
