NOVELTY - Preparing amorphous nickel-iron (NiFe) double metal hydroxide/reducing oxidation graphene composite material, comprises (i) adding oxidized graphene powder into glycol solvent, stirring, (ii) adding iron trichloride hexahydrate (FeCl3.6H2O) and nickel acetate tetrahydrate (Ni(CH3COO)2.4H2O) to dispersion, adding sodium acetate trihydrate (CH3COONa.3H2O), and continue stirring until completely dissolved to obtain a mixed solution, (iii) transferring mixed solution to inner polytetrafluoroethylene of the hydrothermal kettle, placing into stainless steel shell, and sealing, and (iv) reducing hydrothermal kettle shell temperature to room temperature, centrifuging the black product in the liner, pouring the supernatant, adding absolute ethyl alcohol in the precipitate, shaking and dispersing uniformly, centrifuging again, pouring supernatant, adding deionized water in the obtained precipitate, shaking and dispersing uniformly, centrifuging and pouring supernatant. USE - The material is useful in catalytic electrolysis of water for oxygen evolution (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The composite material has excellent conductivity, structure and chemical stability. The method is simple, easy to control and self-assembling.
