NOVELTY - Preparing graphene quantum dots by shell pearl layer in-situ confinement, comprises separating the pearl layer of the pearl shell or abalone shell, grinding to obtain pearl layer powder, and placing the pearl layer powder in a hydrothermal reaction kettle for hydrothermal reaction and soaking the reacted product in hot diluted hydrochloric acid and dialyzing to obtain the final product. USE - The method is useful for preparing graphene quantum dots by shell pearl layer in-situ confinement. ADVANTAGE - The graphene quantum dot: is convenient; has excitation wavelength of 340 nanometers, and the emission wavelength of 529 nanometers; and can be removed by acid-soluble method.
