NOVELTY - Quantum dot material comprises quantum dots, and ligands connected to the quantum dots, where the ligand comprises a coordination group bound to the quantum dot, and a photolysis group connected to the coordination group, where the photolysis group undergoes photolysis to generate an electrode under ultraviolet light irradiation, and the polarity changing group is different in polarity from the photolytic group. USE - The quantum dot material is used in display device (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The quantum dot material avoids the use of alkaline solution to develop the quantum dot and avoids damage of quantum dot film. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for the following: (1) a method for patterning quantum dot film layer, comprising (a) forming a quantum dot solution with the quantum dot material and a solvent, (b) spin coating the quantum dot solution on the base substrate to form a quantum dot film, after shielding the quantum dot film with a mask, using UV light to irradiate the corresponding area of the quantum dot film, so that the photolytic group of the ligand in the quantum dot material in the corresponding area is photodegraded to generate a polarity-changing group, cleaning the quantum dot film with a solvent with the same polarity as the quantum dot solution to form a pattern of the quantum dot film layer; (2) a quantum dot light-emitting device, comprising stacked cathode, electron transport layer, light emitting layer, hole transport layer and anode, where the light-emitting layer includes monochromatic quantum dot film layers, and each of the quantum dot film layers is produced by the patterning method; and (3) a display device, comprising the quantum dot light-emitting device.
