NOVELTY - The secondary battery has a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and an electrolyte layer between the positive electrode and the negative electrode. The positive electrode has a positive electrode active material (111), a first lithium ion conductive polymer, a first lithium salt, and a first conductive material on a positive electrode current collector (101). The electrolyte layer is composed of a second lithium ion conductive polymer and a second lithium salt. The electrolyte layer has an inorganic filler. The negative electrode has a negative electrode active material, a third lithium ion conductive polymer, a third lithium salt, and a second conductive material on the negative electrode current collector. USE - Secondary battery for use in electronic device e.g. monitor of TV apparatus and computers, vehicle (all claimed) e.g. hybrid vehicle (HV), electric vehicle (EV), or plug-in hybrid car, building, or mobile object. Uses include but are not limited to digital camera, digital camcorder, digital photo frame, mobile telephone, handheld game machine, portable information terminal, sound reproduction apparatus, and pachinko machine. ADVANTAGE - The contact between the polymer electrolyte and the active material layer at the interface is improved. The secondary battery having improved rate characteristics, improved discharge capacity, improved cycle characteristics, and improved safety is provided.
