NOVELTY - Preparation of graphene-encapsulated silver/silver vanadate nano-belt composite material involves dissolving 0.01-0.2 g silver salt in 50 mL deionized water, adding 0.01-0.1 g ammonium vanadate and 2 mL pyridine, stirring for 5 minutes, hydrothermal reacting at 180 degrees C for 6-24 hours, cooling, centrifugal washing with ethanol, drying at 50 degrees C for 6 hours, adding 50 mg product to 50 mL deionized water, adding 1 mL aminosilane, stirring at 65 degrees C for 4 hours, treating with ethanol and water, centrifuging, diluting with deionized water to 50 mL, and adding 1-5 mL graphene oxide dispersion. USE - Method for preparing graphene-encapsulated silver/silver vanadate nano-belt composite material used for degrading methyl orange. ADVANTAGE - The material is stable, flexible, and has large specific capacity. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Preparation of graphene-encapsulated silver/silver vanadate nano-belt composite material comprises dissolving 0.01-0.2 g silver salt in 50 mL deionized water, adding 0.01-0.1 g ammonium vanadate and 2 mL pyridine, stirring for 5 minutes, hydrothermal reacting at 180 degrees C for 6-24 hours, cooling, centrifugal washing with ethanol, drying at 50 degrees C for 6 hours, adding 50 mg product to 50 mL deionized water, adding 1 mL aminosilane, stirring at 65 degrees C for 4 hours, treating with ethanol and water, centrifuging, diluting with deionized water to 50 mL, adding 1-5 mL graphene oxide dispersion, stirring for 30 minutes, hydrothermal reacting at 120-180 degrees C for 2-10 hours, cooling, centrifugal washing, adding 0.0006-0.0024 g hydrazine hydrate, reducing silver ions, centrifugal washing, and vacuum freeze-drying. Silver salt is silver nitrate, silver sulfate and/or silver acetate. Aminosilane is 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane, 3-aminopropyltrimethoxysilane, 3-aminopropylmethyldiethoxysilane, N-(2-aminoethyl)-3-aminopropyltrimethoxysilane, N-(2-aminoethyl)-3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane, and N-(2-aminoethyl)-3-aminopropylmethyldimethoxysilane.
