NOVELTY - Preparing N,N,N'-trimethyl-N'-hydroxyethyl-ethylenediamine (I) using monoatomic palladium/graphene catalyst, comprises taking monoatomic palladium/graphene as catalyst, adding raw material hydroxyethylethylenediamine and raw material solid paraformaldehyde into reactor, heating at 110 degrees C in a hydrogen atmosphere, stirring and reacting for 4-6 hours, cooling to normal temperature, separating the catalyst and the reaction liquid by centrifugation, and distilling the reaction liquid under reduced pressure to obtain (I), the pressure of the reactor is 1.5-3 MPa, the metal palladium in the monoatomic palladium/graphene catalyst is loaded on the graphene carrier in the form of a single atom, and the single atom palladium on the surface of the graphene is the reactive site. USE - The method useful for preparing N,N,N'-trimethyl-N'-hydroxyethyl ethylenediamine using monoatomic palladium/graphene catalyst. ADVANTAGE - The method: utilizes monoatomic palladium/graphene catalyst which has higher catalytic efficiency, selectivity and stability; reduces catalyst amount and continuously uses for 10 times without inactivation; and has product yield of more than 95%.
