NOVELTY - A polystyrene/graphene 3D printing wire comprises 60-79 pts. wt. high-impact polystyrene, 10-30 pts. wt. polyphenylene ether, 4-10 pts. wt. toughening agent, 0.1-10 pts. wt. graphene, and 0.1-0.5 pt. wt. coupling agent. USE - Polystyrene/graphene 3D printing wire. ADVANTAGE - The polystyrene/graphene 3D printing wire adopts lightweight polystyrene having excellent thermal stability and strength due to the addition of polyphenylene ether, and excellent electrical conductivity and thermal conductivity due to the addition of graphene. The printing wire provides excellent printing precision and enables smooth and uniform nozzle discharge, due to use of polystyrene as main matrix. The addition of graphene improves the internal heat transfer of polystyrene during printing, and reduces crack generation caused by the uneven temperature of the workpiece. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for preparation of the polystyrene/graphene 3D printing wire, which involves mechanically mixing high-impact polystyrene, polyphenylene ether, and toughening agent, extruding through a twin-screw extruder at 220-280 degrees C, cooling frequently, air-drying, pelletizing to prepare modified high-impact polystyrene pellets, mixing with coupling agent and graphene, extruding through a twin-screw extruder, cooling frequently, air-drying, pelletizing to form graphene-modified high-impact polystyrene pellets, extruding the graphene-modified high-impact polystyrene pellets through a 3D printing wire extruder at 200-260 degrees C, high-temperature constant-temperature cooling to 20-70 degrees C, medium-temperature constant-temperature cooling to 20-50 degrees C, room temperature cooling, air-drying, drawing, and winding.
