NOVELTY - Preparing hydroxy-rich reduced graphene oxide comprises mixing graphene oxide and an oxidizing agent in a weight ratio of 0.5-3:3-10, introducing hydroxy group by heating, mixing the obtained product with a reducing agent and reducing by heating. USE - The hydroxy-rich reduced graphene oxide is useful for coating electrodes (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The hydroxy-rich reduced graphene oxide has good electrical conductivity, can immobilize silane and ring structured molecules simultaneously through introduced hydroxy group and conjugation, is stable in water, highly sensitive for uric acid or ascorbic acid, and exhibits excellent electrochemical catalytic properties. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for electrode coated with hydroxy-rich reduced graphene oxide, prepared by the above method.
