NOVELTY - Preparing trimethyl isothiourea modified graphene oxide flame retardant epoxy resin involves adding 1g graphene oxide and 100ml toluene solvent to the beaker for ultrasonic dispersion for 3 hours, pouring the dispersed mixture into a three-necked flask, and adding 1g trimethylisothiourea under magnetic stirring at 90 degrees C, refluxing for 24 hours, centrifugal washing with anhydrous ethanol and suction filtration 3-5 times, suction filtration and drying at 60 degrees C under vacuum to prepare trimethyl isothiourea modified graphene oxide, mixing hydroquinone and epichlorohydrin according to a certain mass ratio, adding inorganic filler, stirring and reacting at a constant temperature water bath at 90 degrees C for 5-6 hours to obtain the required raw material of epoxy resin. USE - Method for preparing trimethyl isothiourea modified graphene oxide flame retardant epoxy resin. ADVANTAGE - The method enables to prepare trimethyl isothiourea modified graphene oxide flame retardant epoxy resin improves the fire resistance of the material, tensile strength of the epoxy resin, and mechanical properties such as bending strength. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Preparing trimethyl isothiourea modified graphene oxide flame retardant epoxy resin involves adding 1g graphene oxide and 100ml toluene solvent to the beaker for ultrasonic dispersion for 3 hours, pouring the dispersed mixture into a three-necked flask, and adding 1g trimethylisothiourea under magnetic stirring at 90 degrees C, refluxing for 24 hours, centrifugal washing with anhydrous ethanol and suction filtration 3-5 times, suction filtration and drying at 60 degrees C under vacuum to prepare trimethyl isothiourea modified graphene oxide, mixing hydroquinone and epichlorohydrin according to a certain mass ratio, adding inorganic filler, stirring and reacting at a constant temperature water bath at 90 degrees C for 5-6 hours to obtain the required raw material of epoxy resin. The prepared epoxy resin raw material, trimethyl isothiourea modified graphene oxide, inorganic flame retardant, inorganic filler, according to a certain ratio, fully stirring, adding curing agent to obtain finished epoxy resin. The curing agent is isophorone diamine, the accelerator is a mixture of salicylic acid and ethanol, and the curing condition is normal temperature. The inorganic flame retardant is aluminum hydroxide, and the inorganic filler is white carbon black.
