NOVELTY - Preparation of catalyst involves (A), forming a suspension of conductive carbon material, (B), adding iron source comprising a compound with iron porphyrin structure and aqueous ammonia into the conductive carbon material suspension, fully absorbing, freezing, and drying to obtain a precursor, and (C), under protective gas atmosphere, using heteroatom reagent for gas phase doping the precursor. USE - Preparation of catalyst for metal-air battery (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The catalyst has a lower catalytic reaction energy barrier, can be used under weakly acidic, alkaline, and neutral conditions, has a wide application pH range, and high oxygen reduction catalytic performance.
