NOVELTY - An anion exchange polymer comprises aryl ether linkage free polyarylene comprising aromatic/polyaromatic ring in a polymer backbone and a tethered alkyl quaternary ammonium hydroxide side group. USE - Anion exchange polymer used for anion exchange membrane for direct ammonia fuel cell (all claimed). DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for the following: (1) an anion exchange membrane, which comprises the anion exchange polymer; and (2) a direct ammonia fuel cell, which comprises the anion exchange membrane.
