NOVELTY - Graphene or inorganic two-dimensional material is produced by mixing and grinding mixture of graphite or inorganic multilayered material in ionic liquids to form graphene or inorganic two-dimensional material and adding ionic liquids continuously at predetermined rates to the mixture, where mixing and/or grinding steps occur simultaneously with the continuous addition of the ionic liquid for a period. USE - Production of graphene or inorganic two-dimensional material (claimed). ADVANTAGE - Continuous addition of ionic liquid can provide improved yields of desired products and improved consistency of the quality of that product. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for dispersion of graphene flakes in a solvent mixture in which solvent mixture is a mixture of 1-4 carbon-containing alcohol and water, and concentration of graphene in the dispersion is greater than or equal to 1 g/L.
