NOVELTY - Composition comprises catalyst-functionalized graphene sheets, and spacer particles, where the spacer particles partially disrupt the co-ordination between the graphene sheets, and the spacer particles comprise metals. USE - The composition is useful (i) in an electrode, preferably cathode for fuel cells, preferably hydrogen or methanol fuel cells, an acidic fuel cell, a proton exchange membrane fuel cell, (ii) as an electrocatalyst, preferably an anodic electrocatalyst for generation of electricity, and (iii) as an automotive catalyst, electrolyzer, supercapacitor, battery or sensor (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The composition improves electrochemical performance, and reduces overall efficiency charge transfer. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a method of making the composition involving (a) coating graphene sheets with catalytic materials, and (b) adding the coated graphene sheets to a spacer solution.
