NOVELTY - Manufacture of three-dimensional (3D) structure based on graphene involves using a composition containing 3D graphene-based structure in which carbon atoms are arranged in a sheet-based nanostructure and carbon-based hydrogel which is a graphene or carbon oxide hydrogel graphene and carbon-based aerogel which is graphene or graphene oxide. USE - Manufacture of 3D structures based on graphene e.g. graphene aerogel and hydrogel used for removing dyes, drugs, metals, oils, organic solvents, greenhouse gases, bacteria and salts in water or air. Uses include but are not limited to water treatment, biomedical, generation and conversion of energy and energy accumulation devices, static resistance, thermal management, conduction and dissipation of heat, sensors, electromagnetic shielding, wave absorption, catalytic applications, etc. ADVANTAGE - The method is simple and easy to operate with low cost, and environmentally-friendly, and prepares large quantities of high quality three-dimensional graphene having low density, high thermal stability and with different amounts of oxygenated groups in the structure. The method efficiently replaces the traditional methods of synthesis, is simple, fast and low cost route.
