NOVELTY - The flexible pressure-sensing device (10) has a pair of electrodes (12a,12b) sandwiched between flexible first polymer layer (14) and second polymer layer (16) and graphene-based sheet (20) disposed to electrically connect the electrodes. The electrical connectivity between electrodes via graphene-based sheet varies according to the flexure of flexible pressure-sensing device. The graphene-based sheet is chosen from any one of graphene, graphene oxide and like graphene-based nanomaterials. The polymer layer is chosen from any one or combination of polyimide and polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS). USE - Flexible pressure-sensing device for apparatus (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The device is robust since graphene-based sheet is fully encapsulated within flexible polymer layers so that interconnection between electrodes is secured. The device is sensitive enough to pick up signals for sensing, monitoring and/or recording even when pressure exerted on the device is a pulse from heart beat or muscle tremors e.g. for measuring blood pressure since flexibility of the polymer layers and device as a whole is fully transferred to flexing and/or stretching the graphene-based sheet with the encapsulation.
