NOVELTY - Nano sensor device comprises a sensing element that comprises a first sensor layer; a second sensor layer; a base support; an electrical input; and a signal output; the first and second layers each comprises graphene surfaced nano sensing elements, where the second sensor layer comprises Single walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs); the nano sensing elements decorated or functionalized with a bio-attractive compound; the second layer configured to assay compound in a gas phase. USE - Nano sensor device for building and optimizing biosensor. ADVANTAGE - Nano sensor device has sensitive to volatile organic compounds (claimed), it has provided rapid and highly sensitive detection of VOCs in a gas phase sample, it is capable of providing signature information from a variety of assays, comprising bioassays or assays of structures suspected of emitting possible harmful compounds into the ambient atmosphere. It provides a more complete, holistic understanding of the organism's current state of health. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a method for fabricating a nano sensor device, which involves arranging a first SWNT layer on the support at a site on the support having an electrical terminal; decorating the first SWNT layer with a bio -attractive compound; arranging a second SWNT layer atop the decorated first SWNT layer in an amount resulting in a diameter of the second SWNT layer being < the diameter of the first SWNT layer; and decorating the second SWNT layer with a bio -attractive compound.
