NOVELTY - Cutting carbon nanotubes comprises in the local destruction of nanotubes in areas of graphene activated in oxidizing environments during high-temperature pyrolytic processing, where the nanotubes are subjected to cyclic high-temperature processing in an inert atmosphere by increasing their temperature to 950-1000 degrees C for 2-2.5 minutes followed by lowering the temperature to 600-650 degrees C for 1-1.5 minutes, carrying out 6-12 cycles. USE - The method is useful for cutting carbon nanotubes (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method is fast and efficient, easily workable holding processes of complete local destruction of carbon nanotubes on defective areas of the graphene structure without contamination of carbon nanotube material by organic impurities, including amorphous carbon.
