▎ 摘 要
NOVELTY - Composite fiber comprises an alginate fiber, a polymer material, an antibacterial agent and at least one plasmid encoding growth factor (PDGF)-gene. USE - The composite fiber is useful in wound dressing to promote wound healing. The ability of the composite fiber to promote wound healing was tested in C57BL/6 mice by measuring increase in wound heal rate using in vivo assay. The result showed that the mice treated with composite fiber (comprised of PDGF gene) exhibited wound healing rate of 77% and 95% on day 7 and day 11, when compared to control mice group that exhibited wound healing rate of less than 60% even after 11 days. ADVANTAGE - The composite fiber: is capable of releasing the antibacterial agent and the growth factor gene; reduces microorganism growth; secretes growth factors in a wound site through transfection; and promotes tissue regeneration. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for producing the composite fiber, comprising (a) providing an alginate solution and a polymer material solution, where the alginate and polyoxyethylene (PEO) or polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) are mixed to obtain 1-10 wt.%, preferably 2-8 wt.% alginate solution, mixing polymer material and PEO or PVA to obtain a polymer material solution, (b) providing a nano-silver solution, where the nano-silver solution is formed through a redox reaction of a silver salt and a reducing agent, (c) mixing the nano-silver solution with wherein the polymer material solution to obtain a silver-loaded polymer solution, and (d) producing the composite fiber from the alginate solution and the silver-loaded polymer solution.
