USE - Razor blade hard coating. ADVANTAGE - The razor blade hard coating has improved edge strength when deposited on a substrate. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for the following: (1) a method for coating a razor blade, which involves introducing the blade to a reduced atmosphere chamber; exposing the substrate to radiofrequency (rf) plasma; subjecting the blade to a carbon precursor; depositing one or more graphene or graphene-based materials onto the substrate; forming the coating on the substrate; and (2) a shaving device, which comprises one or more blades; and a hard coating disposed on one or more blades, where the coating comprises one or more nano-materials, and graphene or graphene-based materials.
