▎ 摘 要
NOVELTY - Preparing an ultrafiltration membrane, comprises preparing a dope solution by dissolution of dry polymer comprising 15-50 vol.% of solvent, 0-15% of polymeric additive and 0-5 wt.% of nanoparticle with or without acid or base treatment as surface modifier by weight of base polymer by weight is added to a solvent and stirring the mixture for 40-48 hours to form dope solution, degassing the dope solution to remove any trapped gases, casting the dope solutions by using automated casting system by maintaining a gap of 0.1-500 mu m between the backing surface and a doctor knife, air-drying the casted dope solution, and adding the casted solution along with backing to non-solvent media for gelation and formation of the ultrafiltration membrane. USE - The process or the composition is useful for preparing an ultrafiltration membrane which is useful for separating heavy metals (claimed) e.g. arsenic, lead, tin, vanadium and/or cadmium from ground water and industrial effluents. ADVANTAGE - The process: utilizes the treated nanoparticles that exhibits improved heavy metal rejection property; provides a stable surface charged membrane with suitable charge density that separates heavy metals in a simple, easy and cost-effective manner; and have a low water absorption rate. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for a composition of ultrafiltration membrane, comprising the dry polymer, the solvent, the polymeric additive and 0-5 wt.% graphene oxide or zinc oxide, where the zinc or graphene oxide of the base polymer is added to a solvent, and non-solvent media, preferably water to configure an ultrafiltration membrane.
