NOVELTY - Visible light catalyst comprises 3-7 wt.% silver orthophosphate and bismuth tungstate, and reduced graphene oxide. The molar ratio of silver orthophosphate and bismuth tungstate is 1:2. USE - The visible light catalyst is useful for catalytic degradation of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) under visible light conditions (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method is simple to operate, non-toxic, and has higher photocatalytic activity than single bismuth nitrate, and the good effect is when the loading amount of reduced graphene oxide is 5%. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for a method for preparing visible light catalyst comprising (1) dissolving bismuth nitrate, sodium tungstate and cetyltrimethylammonium bromide in distilled water, magnetically stirring for 1 hours, transferring the mixed solution to a Teflon (Polytetrafluoroethylene)-lined autoclave, performing the hydrothermal reaction at 160degrees Celsius for 24 hours, centrifugally washing product, washing with water, then washing with alcohol, and then freeze-drying to obtain bismuth tungstate, (2) dissolving the bismuth tungstate in distilled water, and graphene oxide in distilled water, and ultrasonically processing for 1 hour respectively, transferring the bismuth tungstate solution to a three-necked flask, slowly adding the graphene oxide solution to it, and stirring the mixed solution for 1 hours, adding hydrazine hydrate in the ratio of m(hydrazine hydrate):m(graphene oxide) of 7:10, stirring at 95 degreesC for 12 hours, cooling the solution, performing suction filtration, centrifugally washing, water washing and alcohol washing, and (3) dropping the silver nitrate solution into the concentration of 2 wt% ammonia hydrate solution, adding nitric acid solution dropwise to obtain mixed solution A, using 1M nitric acid to adjust the pH of mixed solution A to neutrality, adding the product 2 to mixed solution A, stirring for 30 minutes, dropwisely adding sodium phosphate dibasic dodecahydrate solution at 20-30 drops/minute, stirring, centrifuging, washing with water, freeze drying, and finally grinding to obtain final product.
