▎ 摘  要

NOVELTY - Formation of an electrode material involves loading an electrochemically active material onto graphene sheets, combining the electrochemically active material-loaded graphene sheets with holey graphene oxide sheets to form a mixture, and treating the mixture under reducing conditions to form a composite comprising a graphene framework loaded with the electrochemically active material. USE - Formation of electrode material used for forming electrode structures for energy storage devices (all claimed) e.g. lithium ion battery and supercapacitor. Uses include but are not limited to portable electronics, utility grids, electric vehicles, capacitive desalinization, and water purification. ADVANTAGE - The electrode material has porous structure with larger-sized pores and tunable micropores to mesopores in the graphene sheets, which facilitates rapid mass transport, mitigates diffusion resistance across the entire monolithic structure, increases the ion-accessible surface area, to provide high capacity and high rate capability even at high areal mass loading. The electrode material has excellent ion and electron transport properties and high areal current density (e.g. 440 mA.cm-2) over 1-2 orders of magnitude higher than other existing electrode materials, and provides energy storage devices with excellent electrochemical performance. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for the following: (1) electrode structure, which comprises a composite comprising the graphene framework and the electrochemically active material loaded onto the framework; and (2) energy storage device (600), which comprises an electrode (E1), an electrode (E2), and an electrolyte (606) provided between the electrode (E1) and the electrode (E2), in which at least one electrode comprises the composite.
