NOVELTY - Carbon-based amphiphilic nano fluid, prepared by taking carbon based nano powder, and modifying with a silane coupling agent and polyoxyethylene ether to obtain the carbon based amphiphilic nano fluid. The carbon-based nano-powder is graphite powder, carbon powder, graphene or graphene oxide, where the minimum dimension of any one dimension in the three dimensional size is 1-100nm. USE - The nano fluid is useful for displacing oil, in water injection to develop oil reservoirs and oil field injection water to prepare carbon-based amphiphilic nano fluid dispersion liquid liquid (all claimed). DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for preparing the carbon-based amphiphilic nano fluid, comprises (a) dispersing carbon-based nano powder in a mixed solvent containing toluene and dimethyl formamide with equal mass ratio, (b) adding the silane coupling agent to the dispersion liquid obtained in step (a) in an oil bath at 80 degrees C, sealing, stirring, reacting at 96 degrees C for 6 hours in oil bath, filtering, purifying, and drying to obtain the silane coupling agent modified carbon-based nano powder, (c) dispersing the silane coupling agent modified carbon-based nano powder in the mixed solvent containing toluene and dimethyl formamide, (d) adding polyoxyethylene ether into the dispersion liquid obtained in step (c) in oil bath at 90 degrees C, sealing, stirring, reacting at 96 degrees C for 6 hours in oil bath, filtering, purifying, and drying to obtain the carbon-based amphiphilic nano fluid.
