▎ 摘 要
NOVELTY - Producing graphene, comprises: providing many metallic particles as templates for graphene formation; providing a carbon source; reacting the metallic particles and carbon source under conditions suitable for graphene formation; and forming graphene particles on the metallic particles, where the graphene particles formed on the metallic particles are of a size and shape substantially corresponding to the size and shape of the metallic particles. USE - The process is useful for producing graphene or graphene particles, which are useful in an ink, a capacitor, a film, a composite material (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The process: is a substantially continuous process (claimed) and provides the graphene having sheet-like morphology and does not show tendency to roll into nanotubes or nanoscrolls, hence it is significantly less expensive than forming films on large foils; carefully controls the growth and size of the graphene particles, thus resulting in graphene particles having substantially similar shape and size with improved dispersion in the composite material or film, and uniform conductivity through the film; and utilizes transition metal particles that act as both template and catalyst for graphene formation, and are randomly dispersed in the support to prevent from clumping together. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are also included for: (1) many graphene particles formed by the process; (2) a film comprising the graphene particles; (3) use of metallic particles for templated synthesis of graphene; and (4) a support comprising the metallic particles for use in the process.
