NOVELTY - High speed tool steel comprises 0.66-0.74 wt.% carbon, 0.15-0.36 wt.% silicon, 0.20-0.31 wt.% manganese, 0.01-0.03 wt.% phosphorus, 0.01-0.03 wt.% sulfur, 0.21-0.36 wt.% selenium, 3.05-4.10 wt.% titanium, 0.29-0.95 wt.% zirconium, 1.70-2.1 wt.% vanadium, 2.77-3.50 wt.% molybdenum, 4.50-5 wt.% cobalt, 1.55-2.05 wt.% tantalum, 0.01-0.03 wt.% fullerene, 0.01-0.03 wt.% graphene, and iron and unavoidable impurity element (balance). USE - Used as high speed tool steel blank . ADVANTAGE - The tool steel blank has good mechanical property, hardness of not greater than 89 Hardness Rockwell C (HRC), tensile strength of 4350 Mpa, and impact toughness of 93 alpha k, and meets processing requirement of high performance parts. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for a method for thermally treating high speed tool steel.
