NOVELTY - Preparing layer-by-layer self assembled antibacterial hydrogel filter film comprises (a) adding reinforcing agent and sodium alginate to copper ammonia solution, mixing and dissolving, dispersing to obtain mixed aqueous solution A; (b) preparing 0.05-5% cationic polyelectrolyte aqueous solution B having acidic pH; and (c) soaking hydrolyzed surface with carboxyl macromolecule film as base film in mixed aqueous solution B, coating a layer of cationic polyelectrolyte on base film surface, soaking the base film coated with cationic polyelectrolyte in mixed aqueous solution A, self-assembling sodium alginate and cationic polyelectrolyte to form a film, releasing copper ion by copper ammonia solution when meeting acid, crosslinking sodium alginate to generate copper alginate hydrogels, rinsing film, soaking the film in mixed aqueous solution B, coating on base film surface, soaking the film in the mixed aqueous solution A, rinsing the film, and repeating for multiple times. USE - The hydrogel filter film is useful for desalination of dyes and removal of antibiotics (claimed) and sewage treatment. ADVANTAGE - The combined effect of polymer self-assembly and copper ion cross-linking enhances the film stability, and copper ions enabled the film to have good antibacterial properties.
