NOVELTY - Gas separation membrane comprises two-dimensional nanomaterials; a metal-organic framework growing on the surface of the two-dimensional nanomaterial and including an imidazole group; and a polymer comprising a first repeating unit having an imidazole group and a second repeating unit having an oxyethylene group. The two-dimensional nanomaterial is graphene oxide or boron nitride. The metal-organic framework is a zeolite imidazolate framework. The first repeating unit having an imidazole group is derived from a vinylimidazole monomer. The second monomer having an oxyethylene group is derived from a poly(oxyethylene methacrylate) monomer. The solvent is ethanol and/or water. The first repeating unit is substituted imidazole-based unit (I). The second repeating unit is substituted carboxylic acid-based unit (II). USE - Used as gas separation membrane. ADVANTAGE - The gas separation membrane can selectively permeate gas; has very thin thickness, high gas permeability, high gas selectivity and high solubility in ethanol and water; and reduces interfacial defects.
