NOVELTY - Preparation of graphene involves mixing 37% formaldehyde aqueous solution, phenol and sodium hydroxide at mass ratio of 1:0.1-1:0.05-0.2, reacting at 60-100 degrees C for 0.5-3 hours, cooling to room temperature to obtain dark red phenolic resin solution, mixing the phenol resin solution with catalyst solution at specific volume ratio of 1:1-10, or soaking solid catalyst in phenolic resin solution, placing mixture in an oven, drying at 50-100 degrees C to constant weight and grinding into fine powder. USE - Method for preparing graphene (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method is simple and has low raw material cost. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Preparation of graphene comprises: (A) mixing 37% formaldehyde aqueous solution, phenol and sodium hydroxide at mass ratio of 1:0.1-1:0.05-0.2, reacting at 60-100 degrees C for 0.5-3 hours and cooling to room temperature to obtain dark red phenolic resin solution; (B) mixing the phenol resin solution with catalyst solution at specific volume ratio of 1:1-10, or soaking solid catalyst in phenolic resin solution, placing mixture in an oven, drying at 50-100 degrees C to constant weight and grinding into fine powder; and (C) heating fine powder in carbonization furnace at 600-1000 degrees C 2 for 2-12 hours with heating rate of 10 degrees C/minute under nitrogen atmosphere, cooling to room temperature, soaking in 0.1-0.5 M hydrochloric acid aqueous solution, washing to neutral and drying to obtain graphene powder.
