NOVELTY - Bio-based thermoplastic elastomer with shape memory comprises 100 pts. wt. natural Eucommia rubber and polycaprolactone, i.e. 50-90 pts. wt. natural Eucommia rubber, 10-50 pts. wt. polycaprolactone, 0-35 pts. wt. filler, 5-30 pts. wt. conductive agent, 0.1-3 pts. wt. vulcanizing agent, 0.2-2 pts. wt. antioxidant, 0.2-2 pts. wt. anti-aging agent, and 0-25 pts. wt. plasticizer. USE - Used as bio-based thermoplastic elastomer with shape memory. ADVANTAGE - The bio-based thermoplastic elastomer has good thermal/electric multiple shape memory performance, biodegradability and comprehensive mechanical property, fine phase structure, and degradation performance; and can reach shape fixation rate (SF) of more than 98%, and deformation recovery rate (SR) of more than 82%, which has a major breakthrough in the development and utilization of bio-based thermoplastic elastomer products with multiple shape memory properties. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for a method for preparing a bio-based thermoplastic elastomer with shape memory comprising (1) melting and blending natural Eucommia rubber and polycaprolactone at a temperature of 70-100degrees Celsius, adding fillers, conductive agents, vulcanizing agents, antioxidants, anti-aging agent and plasticizers in proportions, uniformly discharging, and mixing to obtain rubber-plastic blend, and (2) adding the rubber-plastic blend to the mixer for dynamic vulcanization to obtain a bio-based thermoplastic elastomer, where the mixer is a twin-screw extruder, internal mixer or open mixer, the dynamic vulcanization temperature is 160-200degrees Celsius, and the dynamic vulcanization time is 5-20 minutes.
