NOVELTY - The protective housing (1) has a graphene layer (3) which is conductive yet acting so as to allow transmission of imaging radiation through the housing whilst and prevents radio frequency radiation transmitted through the housing. The housing comprises the external aperture of the camera and a conformal graphene layer formed on or within a substrate (2). The substrate comprises zinc sulphide or any other material having appropriate optical properties. USE - Optically transparent protective housing for camera mounted on platform such as vehicles, aircraft and missiles. Can also be used in radiation monitoring, sensitive monitoring equipment such as infrared (IR) cameras. ADVANTAGE - The electromagnetic radiation is prevented and the radar cross-section of the platform is reduced by reducing susceptibility to detection and counter-measures. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for the following: (1) a camera system operative at a single discrete wavelength; and (2) a seeker system.
