NOVELTY - A gelatinizer contains compound derived from amino acid and fatty acid. USE - A gelatinizer for manufacture of metal nanoparticle and graphene (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - Gelatinizer has high aggregation preventing effect. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - A gelatinizer contains compound of formula R1-C(=O)-NH-CH(R2)-C(=O)-NH(CH2)nX (I) derived from amino acid and fatty acid. R1=7-21C aliphatic hydrocarbon; R2=H, alkyl, sulfanyl alkyl, alkyl sulfanyl alkyl, optionally substituted aryl, optionally substituted heteroaryl, optionally substituted arylalkyl, optionally substituted heteroaryl alkyl, or -(CH2)l-CONH(CH2)mX; X=-NH2 or -OH; and l-n=1-3. INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for: (1) manufacture of metal nanoparticle which involves preparing gel containing metal precursor using gelatinizer and reducing metal precursor in the gel; and (2) manufacture of graphene which involves preparing gel containing graphene oxide and reducing agent using gelatinizer and reducing graphene oxide in the gel.
