NOVELTY - Preparing functionalized graphene oxide comprises dispersing 0.005-0.02 mol silane coupling agent and 0.005-0.02 mol organic compound in 50-150 ml organic solvent, adding 0.1-0.3 ml glacial acetic acid to the mixed solution under inert gas protection at 60-100degrees Celsius for 6-24 hours to obtain a Schiff base ligand dispersion. 0.2-0.8 g graphene oxide is dispersed in 50-200 ml organic solvent, ultrasonically dispersed for 1-6 hours, and added the obtained Schiff base ligand dropwise to the graphene oxide dispersion. The reaction mixture is stirred and refluxed at 100degrees Celsius for 6-24 hours, centrifuged, washed, and filtered with organic solvents, and dried in a vacuum drying oven at 40-80degrees Celsius for 6-24 hours to obtain functionalized graphene oxide. USE - Method for preparing functionalized graphene oxide for adsorbing lead ion. ADVANTAGE - The method prepares the functionalized graphene oxide in a simple manner fast adsorption rate and large adsorption capacity for lead ions by avoiding the problem of low grafting efficiency of organic functional groups on the surface of graphene oxide during the traditional modification of graphene oxide.
